A few months ago I was online looking at all the cities and countries where people were listening to KELP. At any given time we have two thousand people listening on their computer or phone. Everyday you can see where people are listening to someone teaching the Bible. They are online from one to five hours a day.
I got to talk to one of our listeners a few months ago, who listens everyday on his computer. I asked him why he didn’t listen to the Christian station in his town. He said “you have the integrity that I look for in a Christian station.” I thought for a second and then said “we do.” We have only the best teachers on the air. You don’t have to worry about what your listening to. After that I remembered a flyer someone sent me, and it was on the word “Integrity.”
In 2005, the Merriam Webster online dictionary published its list of the word looked up most frequently, and at the top of the list was the word integrity. Like many who saw that list, I’m not sure what to make of it. Duke University said “it’s sobering that people need to look up integrity in the first place.”
Maybe it’s a sign that people were really interested in integrity in 2005, which would be a good thing. According to Merriam Webster, integrity refers to “firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values, “something we as a society often lack. But while integrity may vacillate in our world, God’s character never does. The Bible says “He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow always true and trustworthy.”
If you’re looking for the true definition of integrity, look no further than God’s character as found in the Bible. Malachi 3:6 “For I am the Lord, I do not change.” That is very powerful. It’s amazing to me that we have all of these people listening around the world. It is the Lord drawing people to KELP Radio. We are on AM 1590 and 95.9 FM and 89.3 FM; and we stream the AM signal live at kelpradio.com. We pray for you, the people who listen and callers who have prayer requests. If you have family outside of El Paso be sure to tell them to listen on their computers or phone.
Thanks again for your support. Have a wonderful May.
