It’s Hard To Say Goodbye!

It is difficult to say Goodbye!

God has been so faithful over the years to KELP Christian Radio here in El Paso. There are so many stories of His provision, and more importantly, of Him using this little radio station to reach so many people here in the border region with the Good News.

With radio, His provision often comes in the form of technology. We have a closet here at the station that we sometimes refer to as “the Museum”. The Museum has relics of Technologies Past, including the soundboard in the photo pictured here.

The Lord had already provided a replacement for this soundboard years ago, but we kept this soundboard in the Museum and it was certainly an artifact of interest of our listeners who came through for a tour.

As we recently sent the Soundboard on its way, we were a little sad. But we were also reminded that God wants to continue to provide us with the best technology so that we can reach our neighbors here in the Borderland with the most important Message, the Good News of Jesus Christ, with clarity.

The word “broadcast” means just that! We are to cast “broadly”!

We all remember that we are to be “fishers of men”, and what better way to cast our nets broadly here in our community than with radio? How many folks are in I-10 traffic right now flipping through radio stations? Let’s reach them!

The tower in the photo above is from our 89.3 FM which broadcasts in Southern New Mexico. Because of your generous support, we were able to make an improvement that makes the signal of KELP in southern New Mexico much clearer!

We look forward to reaching more and more folks in our community with solid Biblical teaching and discussion with improved signals and online streaming. And we can’t do it without you. Thank you for your prayers and financial support!

Because, in reality, we aren’t saying goodbye! We are saying “welcome”. Our work today is only because of the prayers, investments and work made and done in the past. But together with you we say “welcome” to what the Lord is calling us to both today and in the future.

Again, thank you! As we look at old soundboards and tower improvements, we are reminded of His faithfulness. It’s the same God who provided that soundboard in the 1980’s that provided for the tower improvement in 2024. Let’s continue to dream big with our King and believe for His will to be done in the Borderland as it is in Heaven.
