Operation Mend-A-Heart
The Children's Grief Center will provide a one day uplifting event called Operation Mend-A-Heart for children, teens and their families whose lives have been forever changed by the death of a military loved one from war, accident or illness. The event will be held from 9am to 3pm. on October 9th, 2010 at the Nolan Richardson Center at 4435 Maxwell, in northeast El Paso. Join us as we honor and remember the lives of our military heroes and begin the healing journey. The day will be filled with a memorial service, opportunities for sharing, arts, crafts and a closing ceremony filled with messages of hope. Abused immigrants may also file to adjust their legal status without the assistance or knowledge of their abusive spouse of parent. The Texas Civil Rights Project's VAWA "Circuit Rider" Program provides free, immediate assistance. We offer bilingual help with the self-petition process, the work-authorization process, and in some cases, with the adjustment process. Free help is available. And the VAWA "Circuit Rider" Program can enable you and your children to leave your abuser.
